Hence Confetti - 2023 - Hence Confetti [mini-review]

Australian band Hence Confetti are out with the EP "Hence Confetti", and I suspect that progressive metal may be the best fir for this production as far as style is concerned. The five sonbgs at hand include a number of different style elements, and songs crafted with a fair deal of diveristy from one to another too. We get songs that switch from gentler, dreamladen sections over to bombastic and heavy set metal landscapes with off kilter riffs and rhythms and a bit of a gleeful extreme metal punch to songs with perhaps a bit more of a commonplace contemporary progressive metal execution, as well as one instance of a more clear cut heavy and bombastic contemporary metal oriented affair. Wedged in between we will also find the band switching over to a light and uplifting variety of jazz or jazzrock that concludes on more of a post-rock oriented majestic high. The confetti in the band and EP name appears to be indicative as a description of contents in this case. A production to seek out by those with an interest in a more alternative approach to the progressive metal universe.

Highproject - 2022 - Beyond the Veil, People Stand Silent. Trusted and in Their Prime
