Shrine of Reflection - 2023 - A Life It All Came To An End [mini-review]
(24:05; Shrine of Reflection)
Polish band Shrine of Reflection are out with the EP "A Life It All Came To An End", and progressive rock is the style explored on this production. It is an interesting production this one, with folk and world music elements as the recurring element on the three songs at hand. The opening cut is a more dramatic and bombastic affair with orchestra inspired keyboard surges and bursts as a defining feature, while the second track is a soft and slow moving excursion with a bit more of an ambient touch and floating and flowing keyboards in the driving seat. The concluding track stays mellow but with a greater emphasis on the folk and world music elements, possibly with a little bit of an influx from jazz added to the proceedings by way of a plucked guitar motif. A production to seek out by those with a general curiosity for the more atmospheric laden parts of the progressive rock universe.
